LET ALONE, WOUNDS HEAL CAUGHT IN THE SHADOWY CORRIDORS OF THE PAST. Our memory reproduces its good and its bad, not always free from errors of omission and commission. Human memory is notoriously selective, picky, with likes and dislikes, attractions and distractions, securities and liabilities – the whole works! Out of mother’s womb, life starts giving and giving but is as part of the deal, wounding us all. Our very first utterance is a cry, a loud cry! True, we are not all bruised to the same degree – some are hurt deeper and more often. Still, let alone, wounds heal. Debris and scars are left behind, though habitually, from time to time, we can’t help but touch our tender spots; after all, they are known to us, we were there. It is human to feel at home within one’s past – more or less. Up to this point, we are all together; beyond, the trail branches off. After pausing for reflection, the prudent move on, while others idle and linger, and some dwell in their private caves, reviewing the old graffiti. Let Alone Wounds Heal. Each Wound Is A Lesson. The Lesson Isn’t That Hard To Learn. Look Things Over In Attention And Sincerity. You Will Learn. Get On With Life And All Will Mend And Amend. - Abstracted from “Coping and Beyond A Surgeon’s Reflections On Medicine, Science, Art, & A Life Worth Living” By Moneim A. Fadali, M.D. DeVorss & Company, publisher.
